Use this checklist to ensure your husky puppy is exposed to a wide variety of experiences during the critical 8-16 week window.

People

  • Men with beards/hats
  • Women
  • Children (various ages)
  • People in uniforms
  • People with wheelchairs/walkers

Animals

  • Friendly adult dogs
  • Puppies
  • Cats (safely)

Surfaces

  • Grass, concrete, gravel, metal grates, wood

Sounds

  • Vacuum, thunder, fireworks (recordings), traffic, doorbell

Experiences

  • Car rides, elevator, stairs, vet office, groomer, pet store

Tips

  • Pair every new experience with treats
  • Watch for stress signals ? retreat if overwhelmed
  • Short sessions (5-10 minutes)
  • End on a positive note
